Test Valley Business Awards 2011/12 launched

Test Valley has launched its Business Awards in Romsey and now is the time to get your nominations in!

Hampshire Chamber are among a host of sponsors for these awards, now in its 8th year.

There are 5 award categories open to all businesses in Test Valley:

> Tourism Business of the Year
> New Business of the Year
> Innovation and Technology
> Employer of the Year
> Small Business of the Year

Last year, Chamber member Thomas Winter Associates based in Andover won Small Business of the Year; and Chamber member Roke based in Romsey won Employer of the Year.

David Gleave, Economic Development Officer for Test Valley Borough Council said, "I have always thought it vital to explain the role of business in our community, particularly in these challenging times. Test Valley Business Awards is a friendly way of showing how many excellent businesses we have on our doorstep."

Test Valley Borough Council's area covers from Linkenholt (to the north of Andover) to Chilworth (south of Romsey and north of Southampton in the south), Shipton Bellinger (west of Andover to Bullingdon (east of Andover and west of Basingstoke). The principle towns are Andover, Romsey and Stockbridge. The area also cuts south-west inside the M27 at Rownhams / Nursling on the M271 and has the Southampton Science Park at Chilworth in its borders.

Closing date for entries is 31 January 2012 and judging will take place in February and March. Finalists are announced and the awards will be presented at a Gala Awards Dinner on 22 May 2012. The guest of honour will be the broadcaster and author Fred Dinenage MBE.
