British Chambers of Commerce publishes its Quarterly Economic Forecast

28 Nov 11

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) have published its final Quarterly Economic Forecast for 2011, with a prediction that economic uncertainty will delay an upturn until late 2012. This prediction was confirmed by Dr Adam Marshall, Director of Policy at BCC speaking on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme earlier today.

The BCC's forecast downgrades its prediction for UK GDP growth in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Though growth is expected to be very weak until mid-2012, the new forecast predicts gradual improvement over time and warns against unjustified gloom about the UK’s economic prospects.
