Superfast Broadband expands across Hampshire
26 August 2015
News has been welcomed by Hampshire County Council, that three million extra premises across the UK now have access to superfast broadband - 60,000 of which are in Hampshire. It follows last week’s news, that BT is to make up to £129m available to extend the national roll-out of superfast broadband. The Department for Culture Media and Sport released figures today which showed that in total, 272 cabinets have either been installed or upgraded to give access to superfast broadband. Successful broadband has been welcomed across Hampshire, as it will play an important role and have a positive impact across the community.
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce would like to see this progress maintained because many rural business members still do not have an acceptable broadband service.
