The Kickstart Scheme
The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of high quality 6-month work
placements for young people aged 16-24, who are claiming Universal Credit. Hampshire Chamber of
Commerce is working alongside the British Chambers of Commerce and is a recognised gateway in
coordinating business responses.
An important part of the grant application is evidencing the training and support you will provide. Hampshire Chamber of Commerce is tasked by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to make sure the training is completed for CV and Cover Letter writing also Interview Techniques. To support employers who are not able to offer these as in-house training, Kickstart Scheme Training Courses have been created, specifically to support with your Kickstart Scheme grant application compulsory declaration and evidence that “you provide employability support to young people”.
All of the training we offer has been designed around the candidates that will be on the Kickstart Scheme, and we’re keen to help them to develop and move forward with their careers either with you or somewhere else at the end of their placements.
There are multiple dates available for the training which can be booked below. Those on the Kickstart scheme only need to attend 1 date. the course content and material remains the same.
The Kickstart Workshop with Progress to Success
This workshop provides an opportunity for participants to understand the best approach to CV management and job
applications and to feel more confident when conducting interviews. Gain a real understanding of where you are now and expectations for the future.
By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
• Know what is really important for a CV and have a draft CV sketched out in the session.
• Have a template for 2 types of cover letters.
• Completing and managing (keeping track) applications – Understanding the person specification to meet the employer’s needs.
• Be aware of the importance of effective communication.
• Explain the 3 levels of listening.
• Answering questions with behavioural type answers
• Have tips, techniques and frameworks for managing interviews.
• Get in control of nerves.

Duration: 10:00 – 13:00 with comfort breaks.

Price: £100 + VAT
All of these employability essential courses are required by the Department of Work and Pensions.
Certification of these courses will be provided on completion.
