Havant we done well?

17 Jan 12

Town, District and Local Centres in Havant have been under the microscope over new year with a consultation on key issues such as extending boundaries, primary and secondary frontages to attract more business and consumers.

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce are among stakeholders and organisations that have fed back and opened the door for further consultation and business comment as detail emerges in the coming months.

Speaking after the consultation response was filed, Ian Welland Head of Area Development for Hampshire Chamber of Commerce said, "This was an opportunity to not only broadly agree with Havant Borough's proposals but also advise on additional factors that would help drive up confidence and growth. Towns, District and Local Centres are dependent on sound planning principles but also reflecting change in our local economies in terms of community and cultural aspects in addition to the changing business landscape. It's not just about retail and shopping."
