British business has always looked overseas for opportunities and foreign trade is vital to the UK economy. In terms of investment, the UK is second only to the USA as the world’s largest investor in overseas markets.

 

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, which has three local International Trade Offices, has many close working relationships with overseas Chambers and other trade agencies, and works in partnership with Business Link and UK Trade and Investment (the Government organisation which supports UK companies trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to locate in the UK)

 

We facilitate business to business contacts through overseas delegations, networking events, access to International Chamber’s information and outward missions promoting our member’s products and services overseas and developing trading opportunities.

 

We provide support and advice to business in all areas of International Trade development and Exporting.  We also provide expert advice on markets around the world, giving our members the opportunity to acquire time sensitive and affordable information tailored to individual needs, including up-to-date country advice, import and export information together with advice on the movements of goods, methods of payment and documentation.

 

We are authorised by HM Government and nationally accredited to certify Certificates of Origin (EC and Arab) EUR1 and A TR forms, invoices and other documents as required in International Trade. We also provide services to help with the documentation requirement under Letters of Credit.

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce offers electronic document processing systems, e-zCert and TradeCert. These enable exporters to apply online for their certificates, have them fully approved and stamped by the Chamber and then allow them to print out on previously purchased certificates at their own office. Chamber Translation Services (CTS), the approved translations supplier of the British Chambers of Commerce, can now offer translations - commercial, technical, scientific or legal - in more than 130 different language combinations. CTS translators translate only into their mother tongue, ensuring high quality, accurate translations, and enabling client businesses to communicate clearly and constructively with their overseas partners. This quality service is available at competitive rates, and Chamber members are offered a 5% discount, with further discounts available for large volumes.
