There has been a number of significant changes to the EU Customs Code in 2016. This half-day presentation will endeavour to cover one of the key elements of these changes that is AEO Status. AEO is an accreditation scheme for international trading companies, administrated by HMRC the award will mean that the importer/exporter or freight forwarder will be regarded by HMRC as a “trusted” trader.
Many of the Customs regimes like IP/OP and Warehousing will only be granted to traders who meet the AEO requirements Any trader who does not meet the standards criteria will need to put in place a bank guarantee to cover any Duty/Vat liability under these regimes..
