New Committee Chair Appointed to Drive us Forward
24 October 2017
Mark Mills-Goodlet, Managing Director of the 52-year-old Winchester Motor Company, is the new chairman of the chamber’s voluntary Winchester Area Committee. Meeting monthly, the group of business leaders from across the city is one of 7 local area committees and part of a countywide structure that lobbies on behalf of chamber members.
Mark replaces outgoing chair Stephen Gates, chief executive of leadership training specialist Bright Light and a former Denplan director, who has a new full-time job outside Hampshire.
Mark said: “I aim to carry on the great work that Stephen and the other committee members have put in over the past few years.
“It’s all about moving Winchester forward and getting the voice of business heard loud and clear in the corridors of power.
“The committee already works closely with individual businesses, the local council and other partners such as the city centre BID.
“I look forward to continuing and strengthening that work to benefit more businesses right across Winchester.”
Maureen Frost, Hampshire Chamber’s Chief Executive, said: “Mark is a strong supporter of the chamber and a very worthy ambassador both for members and other businesses in Winchester. “At the same time, we thank Stephen for his much valued input and influence on the committee in recent years and wish him well for the future.”
