Wightlink is transforming ferry travel to the Isle of Wight by investing £45million in its flagship Portsmouth to Fishbourne route.
It is spending more than £30million on a new ship, specifically designed for the route. The vessel, using hybrid battery power as well as low sulphur marine gas oil, will arrive in the Solent in 2018 and will be the most environmentally friendly vessel to serve the Isle of Wight.
In addition, new two-tier boarding ramps on both sides of the Solent are already speeding up loading and reducing congestion in the city centre. A new terminal building at Portsmouth will provide modern facilities for customers.
Join us over a cup of coffee in the new terminal before boarding Wightlink’s current flagship St Clare for a round trip VIP passenger crossing with opportunities to visit the Bridge and meet the Captain.
Sit back, relax, take in the scenic Solent views and sea air and enjoy a networking lunch provided by a range of local partnership suppliers.
See the new ferry plans and hear from Wightlink Chief Executive Keith Greenfield about the new ship and the company’s major investment to improve reliability and connectivity within the City and Isle of Wight and support the continued growth of businesses on the Island and mainland.
A fascinating and exclusive event and not to be missed.
